01.

Provide clients with a free initial consultation, without obligation.

02.

Provide clients with clear information on the service provided, including any fees that may be charged and the timescales involved before they make any commitment.

03.

Ensure that the adviser is fully qualified to offer advice on Lifetime Mortgages and Home Reversion Plans, acts in line with the requirements of the Financial Services Authorith (FSA) and keeps their knowledge regularly updated.

04.

Within a personal written report, recommend the most appropriate plan for the client, from across the whole of the equity release market including Lifetime Mortgages and Home Reversion Plans.

05.

Provide information on how a client's entitlement to state benefits could be affected by releasing equity from their property.

06.

Act in the clients' best interests at all times, investigating alternatives and advising against equity release when it is felt that it is not the client's best option.

07.

Endeavour to treat customers fairly at all times, inviting them to include family members or other beneficiaries in discussions before making a decision.

08.

Remain open and honest at all times, treating the client with respect and dignity, and allowing as much time as required before making any decision.

09.

Ensure that clients understand that the value of their estate and therefore the amount left for their beneficiaries will be reduced by releasing equity from their property.

10.

Work closely with the equity release provider and client's own solicitor, to assist in achieving a smooth and worry free transaction.
